Cotton Ball

This very vocal girl came to us in December 2016 from Beth Markell in Milford, Michigan.  She is named “Cotton” because her fur is sooo soft.
Cotton was found as a very thin stray by Beth’s daughter, Keira.  Beth and Keira took Cotton to The Humane Society of Livingston County for veterinary care.  Unfortunately, Cotton tested positive for FeLV.  The Markell family was unable to keep Cotton since they already have a healthy cat.  Beth contacted Smokey Acres and luckily, we could assist.
The stress of the move to Smokey Acres was very intense for Little Ms. Cotton and she made sure to tell us!  We kept her isolated for several weeks while we completed a de-worming series and confirmed that Cotton was 100% ready to meet her sanctuary mates.  Now, she has full roam of the sanctuary.  She is making friends ever so slowly.  She has begun to engage in a little play with Bella who, of course, is such a good pal forgiving all of Cotton’s cranky mutterings.
